Fall has kicked off with a bang, or should I say a weeklong Noreaster! As I write this newsletter they are predicting another 3-4 days of inclement weather. With the storm come some interesting flotsam and jetsam. We had an old WWII ordinance and Chesapeake channel marker wash up so far. See link about the WWII artifact.

The Baja Surf Classic was another great success with over 100 contestants and huge support from the Sandbridge family’s that came out to help judge, tabulate, and feed participants. This event is in its second year of being free for contestants with local business’ and residence sponsoring the event. Not only were all the expenses covered, all additional funds went to help two longtime local gentlemen that have serious medical issues. An event like this truly shows the spirit of our great community. See link for winners and photos.

The real estate market is moving along with 4 homes that went under contract just last week. These range from an oceanfront home listed at $2,350,000 to a canal front home listed for $565,000. See link for recent sold and pending properties.

Upcoming events include the Octoberfest on October 4th for Sandbridge Beach Civic League members (you can join at the event $15.00 for year), Fall Clean Up on November 1st and Sandbridge Tour of Homes on December 5th. More information about these events can be found on our sister site; www.sandbridgelife.com
