It’s been a busy fall so far in Sandbridge Beach. On October 3rd the Dolphins Promise/Lance Armstrong Race went off without a hitch. With over 500 runners participating including children for the 1-mile fun run, a good time was had by all. Mayor Sessoms even came down to participate in the festivities. That evening an incredible wine tasting was hosted by Zest Restaurant that would rival any in the big city, with all proceeds going to the LA Foundation.
On the real estate side of things, the Sanctuary held its second auction to sell their remaining units that seemed to be very successful. Approximately 16 units were sold with prices ranging from $756K to as low as $256K. We have had several more bank owned properties (REO) go on the market this past month. These homes are being purchased fairly quickly, with average market time of less than 14 days. See link for sales of single family homes (PDF) in September and condo sales here (PDF). Coming up this weekend is the October civic league meeting on Saturday the 17th at 10:30am and on Sunday is the semi-annual Litter Pick-Up. The event is scheduled to start at 1:00pm and participants are asked to meet at Little Island Park to get assigned an area to clean, a barbecue will follow provided by the Boardwok Restaurant sponsored by the SBCL. That’s it for now. Pat
