Sand Replenishment is moving along and the project has caught the attention of the local media. Channel 10 Wavy News was recently out on our beach filming the progress of the project. Watch the video below to see time lapse footage as well as hear from Phillip Roehrs with the City of Virginia Beach as he explains why this project was necessary and gives a little background on previous replenishment projects.
Bill and Anne Gassett snapped some great photos of the replenishment crews working away during one of their Sandbridge Sunrise photo shoots this week as well. According to the news report, this phase of the project is slated to finish by the end of May/early June. Just in time for our summer guests to arrive and enjoy the wider beach.
