April has been a very welcome month to Sandbridge after a particular wet, cold and windy March at the beach. Our sand replenishment project is in full swing and they are currently working in the 3300 block.
Sandbridge Beach through the work of the Sandbridge Beach Business Association has been given approval as a Certified Blue Wave Beach for the 2013 beach season by the Clean Beach Coalition (CBC). Blue Wave is America’s first environmental, health, and safety certification for beaches. This approval means that Sandbridge Beach, its residents and visitors will voluntarily pledge to uphold seven responsible beach management practices. They are water quality, beach and intertidal conditions, safety, services, habitat conservation, public information/education and erosion management. On the real estate front, spring has been very active with 8 homes pending sale and 7 sold during the month of March. On the condo side there are 3 pending sale and 3 sold properties for the same time period. There are currently 55 homes for sale and 32 condos. This represents approximately a 35% reduction in inventory from the same period last year.
A few events coming up in Sandbridge include the Spring Clean-up scheduled for Sunday April 28th at 1pm, meet at Little Island Park, the Memorial Day Parade at Sandbridge Shores on May 27th and the Annual July 4th Boat Parade.
