It’s been a rollercoaster ride of weather lately in Sandbridge. Two weeks ago we were in the 100’s and burning up, then last weekend we needed rain jackets and sweatshirts. The same can be said for the real estate market. It was very quite during the month of July but seems to be improving with more inquires from buyers as we move into August.

See insert for latest statistics of sales compared to 2009. As you can quickly see we have more than doubled in units sold. This is a sign that as prices have come down buyers have been there to make the purchase. Certainly some of the increase is from distressed properties that have sold below market value. Oceanfront statistics are the least accurate from the table due to their only being two sales in the first six months and condo sales continue to be anemic.

Time will tell if we have reached the “bottom” but with interest rates at record lows and prices down, it might be the right time to explore the real estate opportunities in Sandbridge Beach.

Average = all home sale price added together and divided by the number of sales
