Connect with a Wish-Graduation Baskets

The SBCL is partnering with Connect With A Wish to host a drive for Graduation Baskets for 20 young adults who were in foster care who have just graduated high school and are now heading to college!

The statistics of those who age out of foster care are disheartening. Nationally, only 3% will graduate college, 20% of young adults end up homeless as soon as aging out, and 40% within 18 months. Connect With A Wish (connectwithawish.org) is a local non-profit that is working hard to change those statistics by supporting these young adults with numerous programs. A key support program is Connect to Careers (C2C) which works one on one with these young adults to assist them in furthering their education and starting a meaningful career. This year, C2C wants to celebrate their accomplishments by providing them with Graduation Baskets to help them move into their college dorm rooms or apartments.
