SBH Newsletter – November 2011
November 2, 2011 sandbridgehouses

It’s hard to believe we are in November already with the holidays right around the corner. It’s been a busy fall in Sandbridge with lots of great events and a few left to go before winter takes over. During the month of October we had the Livestrong Sandbridge Dolphin Challenge Race, The Double Clutch Fishing Tournament, the Back Bay Hei Hei ( standup paddle board event), and the annual Halloween Pot Luck on Bluebill Drive. In November a new event will come to Sandbridge Beach, it’s Charlie Normile’s Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving day at Little Island Park, all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Navy Seal Foundation, see link for details: www.charliesrun.com

Since my last newsletter there have been 6 homes sold with 3 pending sale and 1 condo pending sale. See link for details and final sales price on the sold properties. As we approach the end of the year the real estate market is on track to sell more homes and condos than last year. Some of this increase is attributed to the selling of distressed property and the offering of property in great condition with excellent rental income. One thing is for sure, the recession has not had a negative impact on the vacation rental market in Sandbridge, the 2011 season was good and early reservations indicate a strong 2012 according to the local rental management firms. An additional sign of the health of our real estate market is the number of houses currently under renovation and the building of 4 new oceanfront homes. My January newsletter will include a comparison of this year’s sales and 2010.

As we move into the Holiday season, I hope you all get an opportunity to spend time with family and friends and if you’re in Sandbridge please stop in and say “hi”.

Aloha,
Pat
