November 16, 2012 sandbridgehouses

First, Sandbridge Beach as most of you know by now fared well from the storm. There was some beach erosion and structural damage mostly to homes located at the extreme south end of the beach. The City did a great job of cleaning up Sandfiddler Road and you can barely tell we had a storm two weeks ago. I know that all of us that call Sandbridge our home or home away from home are thinking and praying for all those affected by Sandy in the Northeast.

Second, there is good news to report on our Sand Replenishment Project. The contract has been awarded to Weeks Marine. They will begin the project in December with a May 15, 2013 complete date. The contract calls for 2 million cubic yards of sand. See link for press release by City of Virginia Beach. I would like to thank all the City Staff, Mayor Sessoms, Senator Mark Warner and Congressman Scott Rigell for their efforts in clearing the red tape having to do with this contract.

In real estate news, RBC is advertising “new construction” on a great third row lot for under $800 thousand dollars. I have seen the plans and owner David Whitley has created a very versatile home design. See link for details. As always you can see all the homes and condos sold in the last 30 days by following this link.

Finally, I would like to wish all my clients and visitors to SandbridgeHouses.com a happy and wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!! Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Aloha,
Pat
