They are our only wild cats, yet they are rarely seen. We know bobcats live, mostly in nighttime secrecy, in the southern part of Virginia Beach. In the northern part of the city, bobcats exist mostly in rumors.
Some folks around First Landing State Park, especially, think they have heard a bobcat call in the night or are pretty sure they have seen a footprint, but that’s about it.
Recently, several of you reported seeing young bobcats at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
