Stand Up Paddleboarders will once again flock to the Sandbridge area for the Sandbridge Hei Hei 2011, a lively Stand Up Paddle Race. The event, which has been a success in years past, will now benefit a truly great cause, The Kraig Vickers Memorial Fund. Kraig was an avid waterman and lover of Sandbridge, who is greatly missed by our community. 
This year, the race will be held on October 8th between 8am and 11am, with a make-up date scheduled for the next day if race day conditions are deemed too dangerous. There are multiple events for all skill levels and age groups, to ensure that everyone is having a good time. They are as follows:
- KAHUNA “Elite” Race: 4 mile Surf/Slalom Course, with 4 laps starting on the beach, going in and out through the surf with buoy turns. Equal Cash Purse for Top 3 (Men 14′ and Women 12’6″)
- AKAHI “Novice/Recreational” Race: 2 mile Course, with Prizes for Top 3 Men and Women
- KEIKI “Kid’s” Race: Race and Beach Obstacle Course, with Prizes for Top 3 Boys and Girls
