Did you know that there is a Neighborhood Block Watch Program in Sandbridge?   This is just another way Sandbridge residents can work together to keep the community safe for our locals and the tourists who come to enjoy our beach.

The information below was published in the May issue of the Civic League Newsletter.

Sandbridge Neighborhood Block Watch Program

PURPOSE:  The Sandbridge Neighborhood Block Watch Program was established and is designed to allow citizens to come together and help prevent crimes throughout each neighborhood and Sandbridge as a whole.  The Neighborhood Block Watch Program helps to make our community a safer place to live in.

Information:
Re-certification of the Sandbridge Nieghborhood Block Watch Program is scheduled for July 1, 2012.  All Block Captains are required to verify that all residents in your zone are active members at this time.

Officer Bradley Deitrich of the 1st Precinct Crime Prevention Unit is our liaison within the VB Police Department.  He has provided valuable insight and guidance in the formulation of this program.

Sandbridge has been divided into 71 zones which allows a reasonable span of control of full time homes in each zone for Block Watch Captains oversight.  Each zone has an average of 12-18 homes in it.

Members Update
Block Watch Captains:  56 of 71 Zones have Captains, Captains are needed for the remaining zones.  The vacant Zones and their location within Sandbridge can be found on the program’s website.  If you would like to be a Zone Captain, please email Joe Duda.
