The real estate market in Virginia had its strongest second quarter since 2008. The Virginia Association of Relators released a report which said sales have reached $10.6 billion which is 11 percent higher compared to last year.

Out of the seven regions in Virginia, six of them saw the median price rise. Central Virginia saw the biggest increase at 13.9 percent compared to the previous year. Only Hampton Roads/Chesapeake saw a decline in the median sales price. They were down 5.4 percent from last year.

This continues to reflect the nation wide trend of the recovering market.
