As of Wednesday evening, Tropical Storm Arthur has gained momentum and is approaching hurricane intensity. Virginia Beach officials have postponed the Sandbridge Beach fireworks until Saturday evening and the boat parade will happen on Sunday.
General predictions for the Hampton Roads area include 20-30mph with gusts around 40mph and storm surge of less than 1 foot.
