Sandbridge Beach was bustling with activity this past weekend, some good, some not so good. The Annual Sandbridge Beach Tour of Homes started with a Friday night option from 5pm-8pm. My wife and I hosted at “Beach Plantation” and were pleasantly surprised to welcome more than 60 visitors. The organizers and volunteers were very happy with the turn out.
Now, the not so good, at 8:30pm that night an accident on Sandbridge Road shut down access to the road and knocked out power for the remainder of the night. Fortunately for many that were stuck in Sandbridge or for those trying to get in, Dam Neck opened up its gate at the north end of Sandbridge to allow access at 11pm and kept it open until Sandbridge Road reopened at 9:30am. There were no injuries from the accident, just three power poles that came down across the road.
From what I hear, the Home Tour had a very strong turnout for Saturday’s event which raised funds for the Community Church and local charities. Sunday morning we woke up with a dusting of snow on the ground, which was perfect for the Annual arrival of Santa that evening. More than 40 children gathered at the Church to greet him and for treats. It was another great family event.
As we move into the holidays, the real estate transactions move into the seasonally slowest period of time. We had one sale and two pending transactions on single family homes during the month of November (see pdf for details) and two sold and two pending sales on condos during the same period (see pdf). Next month I will be compiling the statistics for year ending 2010 and comparing them to 2009.
I would like to wish all the subscribers, clients and friends of the SBH Newsletter a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy your time with family and friends and all the best for a healthy and happy New Year!!
Aloha,
Pat
