After having a great run of warmer than usual temperatures, we are beginning to have our traditional temperatures and winds come into Sandbridge Beach, which for me is ok, with Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, it’s great to get the fireplace back in action. This past Sunday many Sandbridge locals got together at The Boardwok Restaurant to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. Kevin Wong, his family and staff have done a great job and it was fun joining in the celebration. If you have not experienced his wonderful food, check out www.boarkwokvabeach.com for details. Kevin also just recently may have caught a world record fish off the Virginia Beach coast. It’s a Darwins Slimehead, that weighs in at 8.5 pounds. He will find out in the next few weeks from the International Game Fish Association, if it’s an official world record.
Real estate for the past month continues to be fairly active. There are three pending and two sold houses for the past month (see link) and four pending and two sold condos (see link). Part of this activity is certainly tied to the historically low interest rates that are available. In other related news, the City of Virginia Beach should begin the beach access improvement project in Sandbridge with Tuna Lane being first, to be followed by the Market access and Pike Lane access. These improvements should be done by Memorial Day 2011.
For those that will be in town, don’t forget the Annual Christmas Tour of Homes scheduled for December 3-4th. You can find more information at www.SandbridgeChristmasTour.com.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful Holiday Season!!
