Summer 2023 has arrived!

This past Wednesday was the first week of Bingo at the Fire Station and all our seasonal businesses are open and doing great. It’s always wonderful to see folks coming in on Saturday to enjoy their week at the beach with family and friends. When possible, I always like to engage in conversations with them and hear where they are from and their history with Sandbridge.

On the real estate front, activity has slowed a bit from previous months due to continued low inventory. There are currently 4 homes and 6 condos available for sale. We have been in this low inventory situation for some time now, the only thing I know for sure is nothing stays the same and this too will change.

Activity for the past 30 days is as follows:

Single Family Homes – 4 Sold and 2 Pending
Condos – 5 Sold and 1 Pending
Market Metrics – January 1, 2023 – June 22, 2023 YTD

Last Thursday night, Barbara Henley hosted her monthly town hall meeting and invited Avangrid and Protect Sandbridge Beach Coalition to make a 15-minute presentation. Avangrid did not provide any additional information on the Kitty Hawk Wind project from the May4th meeting, but the Protect Sandbridge Beach Coalition, for the first time in a public forum, was able to present the argument that Sandbridge Beach was not the right location to land high powered cable lines. You can read more about this issue at www.protectsandbridgebeach.org. It’s important to note that no permits have been issued and Avangrid is asking city council to grant an easement for these lines before any other approvals.

That’s it for now, enjoy the summer!

Aloha,
Pat
